The Scorpion and the Frog

Thought this was interesting...

One day a scorpion was walking along the riverbank trying to find a way to get across the river that separated him from his desired location when he came across a frog sitting alongside the riverbank.

The scorpion walked up to the frog and asked the frog if he would take him across the river. The frog quickly replied, "No, I would not give you a ride." The scorpion then asked him why. The frog replied, "Because Mr. Scorpion if I gave you a ride on my back you would sting
me and I would drown." Quickly the scorpion replied, "But Mr. Frog, if I stung you then you would drown and if you drown then I would drown also." The frog thought for a moment and then said, "I guess you're right, then I will give you a ride."

The scorpion jumps on the frog's back and they start crossing the river. Half way across the river the frog suddenly feels a sharp pain in his back, as the scorpion stings him. The frog immediately starts to panic as he feels the venom race through his veins and he quickly begins to become paralyzed. Just as he is taking his last breath and about to go down, the frog looks at the scorpion and asks "Why? Now we'll both die!" The scorpion replies, "I'm sorry, it's my nature".

I don't read but...

I bought this book. hahahaha
Yesterday at work there was a Mom that came in and brought all her kids in for an eye exam - 5 of them in total. Unfortunately, the youngest boy had been severely crippled by Autism. We were unable to get any sort of information for his eyes because he was unresponsive to instruction and unable to stay still.
We talked about how sad it was to be brought down by something that we can't fix.

This book came up between a co-worker and I.. It's about a boy that has Autism, but is gifted with brilliance. The book begins with Christopher, the main character, discovering the body of his neighbor's dead dog. He goes on to investigate the death using mathematical techniques and logic, narrated through first person. The rest? well I'm not completely sure yet.. I haven't decided if I wanted to read it yet because I bought it for Diana. I really think she'd enjoy this. We'll see!

I Hate Groupies at the Gym

Recently, I've been going to the gym for about 6-7 days straight, trying to get back into the habit and routine. I actually started on July 1, and it is now July 27th and I'm still going strong. The problem with going to a public recreation center with multiple facilities is that the small fry that occupy other areas of the gym will often wander or find themselves in the weight room.

Fine. If you're there to get big, grow some muskles and be healthy, then feel free.
However, that is often not the case. The gym is actually like your highschool - full of cliques, groups and individuality. There is one group that I just can't stand and I think my hate for them from highschool has translated over into the gym. That, or they've just followed me here.

You know, the typical asian stereotype? g-star shirts, nike sweats - only in black or white because god forbid, if they wore any other color they would probably get chopped, Ed Hardy shoes and white tipped hair. There aren't just one of these, there are 4, 5 maybe even sometimes 6 about the same size as I was when I was 12. They stand around each other, pretending to stretch while looking around to see what everyone else is doing so that they can follow along. And the one thing about these groupies is that they will be at the gym for 2 maybe 3 hours but actually only work for a total of maybe 5 minutes.
The thing about these groupies is that they almost cross the line of homo. Gay people working out is fine, but straight guys trying to be funny being homo is not. Touching each others biceps to see how firm they are or pinching your buddy's cheek saying he's cute after he finishes his set is not cool. Not cool at all.

There is also one more that stands out more than the rest. That one guy who thinks he's big, but isn't really, but he always has to throw that dirty look to everyone after he drops his weights.. saying "fuck you, my penis is small" and he walks around with his arms coming in towards his body because working his back doesn't help his penis, only his biceps do.

While it does get annoying to see these types of characters around the gym, it helps to pass the time. When you're on your last set and you just can't seem to push that bar back off your chest, think about some motherfucker pinching your cheek. It'll probably piss you off enough to get that last one in.

Until next time, happy working out my friends.

New Kicks

Well, I've been hurtin' for some new shoes lately.. I'm getting tired of the sore feet from the converse, the lack of support and the gaudy design of Ed Hardy for some time now so I've moved on to a new style - trying something different.
I've gotta say, it's been a while since I've had some comfy shoes. Thanks to Julee's friend's discount that I could get the two Dunk's for almost half the price.

Not bad for driving either.. hahaha

Project: Steering Wheel

Well, got a call from Jackie today telling me my hub was in.. sick cause I thought it'd be next week. I was just about to shampoo the Recaros too, but I grabbed the hub instead.
Got home, got one screw holding the airbag on and then the other side.. well that was a NIGHTMARE.
The screw was stripped to shit by the time I almost gave up on it. What do I do? Well, call Eric.. hahahaha he always has the answer to everything with cars. So he dropped by and we were at it for about half an hour until there was no use. We used a screw extractor and were close to JB-welding the allan key to the nut to turn it. Instead, Eric suggested we just drill the whole head out and then go from there.
We got the head out and now the body remained, so we tried taking that out but no avail. Instead, it was as simple as grabbing some needle nose pliers and just turning the body out. F*** Yes.

What should have been the simplest part turned out to be the hardest part. So we got the airbag out, disconnected it and removed the wheel. We attached the HBK hub on, put the steering wheel on and Eric connected the horn.
VOILA. What should have taken about 20 minutes took 2 hours. But it's all done and on now. I'm just waiting on the quick release now WOOT.

Here are pics of the wheel on

Again, big thanks to Eric for helping me out on this.

During track day, I also sat as passenger with Eric and his 240SX and got some footage.
Enjoy

Nardi Deep Corn 330mm

Well, I recently cancelled my J's racing stuff cause it was taking too long. I was really hoping to have it by one of the track days, but it would've been a no-go. Probably would have had it when winter started. Instead, I used the credit for a Nardi Deep Corn 330mm suede steering wheel, a red NRG thin quick release and an HKB hub adapter.
I don't have the hub or quick release yet - the hub should be here sometime next week while the quick release will be here mid august.

Here are some pics of the wheel, I'll try to have pics up ASAP when I get the wheel on.

Up-close of the Nardi signature

The whole wheel.. It's not a full deep-dish, but it's good enough for me.

Another up-close of the hand stitched suede.

Speedtech Track Day

Well, yesterday we had the first track day of the year.. Since our race track is closing down this year, I thought it'd be great to go out and get some racing in. WHAT A SICK DAY, I'll tell ya. Nothing is better than being able to push your car to its limits and still be safe. I honestly didn't know I could push my car the way I did yesterday, it was great in the corners. I'm hoping for the next track day, I'll have a new set of brakes, downpipe and testpipe.

Well, here's a clip of one of my last runs in-car.

and a sick pic thanks to Ryan O' Hara

Craig David is crazy! His songs have always been super good, and to be able to do it acoustically and sound exactly like the produced version is mad skill. Damn.

Her Ring

People often ask me,
"are you married?"
and like always, I reply with a "nope".

And they look at my finger, look at me, look at my finger and I say, "I know. It's complicated, but it's no promise ring... It's just complicated".

I wrote this a few years ago, and I thought I'd put this up again because the question came up at work today. I know it's a bit different than my usual blogs, but I thought I'd go back to my roots of writing today. Anyways, enjoy!

Her ring is not a symbol of how she lives, nor is it how she isn't living it. It does not have the meaning of Love embedded in it, nor does it not symbolize it. It is merely a positive burden. A weight that she carries not on her back but on her finger. It is not the heaviest weight, but it is hard to hold because she holds you also; she carries your needs, your wants, secrets and your deepest desires. And she does this because she knows you do the same for her. So, when "problem" troubles us, I simply look at the ring and remember... I hold her needs, her wants, her secrets and her deepest desires, and she does the same for me, and "problem" is not even close to bigger than the two of us. So, in the end, her ring is not a symbol of how she lives, nor how she isn't. It is a reminder that living does not mean living one life... but two.

Busy Busy Busy

Well, lately I've been pretty damn busy with a certain project that the parent's have given my sister and I. Not only does it involve going through invoices for all of 2007 and 2008, but it also means that we have to go through every single teeny weeny detail and mark any changes in prices that have taken place. SO LAME... This pile is only half of 2007. X_X

On the other hand, now that Diana is gone to Vietnam for 3 weeks and a bit, I'll admit that it's gotten a bit lonelier so it's tough adjusting to that. I'm used to waking up, chillin' with her and then going home later. I know, it sounds lame but when it comes to routine and it changes.. it's tough to accommodate. But, it's given me more time to start things that I've been putting off.
My goal is to go to the gym 6-7 times a week and just use my excess energy there. I don't plan on taking any sort of supplement like I have in the past, instead I'm trying to eat what I need.

It's been 15 days, and I've gained approximately 2 lbs of lean muscle.

Anyways.. I'll try to keep everyone updated on the progress. Stay tuned!

So, today I detailed Eric's 240sx because it was seriously HURTIN' for a detail job. I wish I had taken before pictures but I totally forgot. Turned out so nice afterwards.. and well, the pictures speak for themselves.

Burberry Ballin'

So, after months of looking and calling around, I finally get what I've been looking for. Holt Renfrew has failed at supplying any good watches and I haven't been able to find any other places that actually carry Burberry.
The other day, I went to Northland to eat breakfast at Cora's.. (those of you who haven't eaten there yet should definitely give it a try).. and I also had to meet Nick to give him his 16x24 print of his Mustang GT with Mercedes Terrell.. While waiting for him, I went into a jewelry shop to look around and lo and behold, there was my watch.

After sleeping on it, I decided that I had to get it. Not only that but they were able to give me a smokin' deal on it that I could not refuse.

WFC #098

Hell yes. Say hello to Wrong Fitment Crew member # 098.. I wish it were #100, but oh well. When I get my vinyl, I'll be sure to take pics of it and post it. Should be sometime this week.
Now all I need is to get a new set of wheels and be part of HellaFlush. hewwwwwphhhh

What is WFC, you ask? Well basically it's exactly what you think it is. The wheel sizes on the given car are not meant for that car, nor should it be able to "fit". With the proper specs and long hours of trial and error, you're able to run much more aggressive offsets and widths not normally run.
I've gone through 3 sets of wheels to get to where I am now and I'm still not happy. I think over the winter, I want to order a more aggressive set.

For anyone who is interested..

1st set:
WORK XT7's
17x7 +45

2nd set:
Gram Lights 57 MAX
17x8 +43

Current set:
VOLK TE37's
17x8.5 +40
17x7.5 +30

I'm hoping to run 17x9.5 +35 on the next set.. or even wider. We'll see!

Too Much Swag

God damnnnnn!!! I saw this on another forum and even though it's a photoshop, it is SO ballin'. I want to get this done somehow on my car somewhere without looking tacky. This fit would be too sick if it were real.

Raw Denim is Right

So it's been approximately 6ish months since I've copped my Evisu No.3's. I've washed it twice since then.. which I've hated doing because I wanted to hold off for as long as I could. Unfortunately, I have to eat and unfortunately, things fall on the day that I'm wearing jeans that I don't want to wash -__-.
It's all good though, they've been wearing nicely. Recently, they've been untouched for about 2 weeks... I'm hoping to get more wear & tear on these bad boys.
There's just nothing better than a pair of jeans that fit you personally. WOOO

Needs spacers...

So it's been about 3 weeks now since I've put my car back on coilovers and slammed it. It's sitting pretty now .
The wheels are Volk TE37
F: 17x8.5 +40, 245/40/17
R: 17x7.5 +30, 225/45/17
Yeah, a FWD stagger! By the looks of the pic, I need to drop about 10mm up front to sit more flush and maybe 5mm in the rear..

Mugen Inspired AP2

Here is a little sneak at last week's shoot of Terence's AP2.. Extremely clean and refined, it's tough NOT to like this car. Subtle mods make it a car anyone's Dad would drive, but the Spoon exhaust is loud enough to refrain him from doing so LOL
Watch for updates on it.. I'm sure Terence has something new up his sleeve...

EP3 Wat?!

So, yesterday a bunch of us went out and took some snaps of Mr. Honda-Tuning's Ep3. Super sick and super clean mini van. =D
For those of you that are enthusiasts, you might have seen his car featured in last months Honda Tuning.. his car has changed a bit since then with the Mugen wing and Greddy SE exhaust... Guess who got the new snaps first!
Anyways.. enjoy!
Credits go to Arif (EK 2.0) for the super sick location!
